Description

The river-chalets at Le Massif de Charlevoix are nestled in a young hardwood forest on the edge of the St. Lawrence River. Offering a spectacular view of the river and the South Shore, their wrap-around verandas seemingly floating above the undergrowth. The eleven sites feature a unique micro-climate and forest environment near the bottom of the Le Massif ski trails, a short walk away. A path through the forest will run behind the chalets and a natural pond will be preserved.

The two-story chalets boast living areas on the ground floor opening onto the veranda, the forest, and the river, and bedrooms on the floor above, equipped with balconies looking out on the river.

The distinctive and contemporary architecture of these river-chalets discreetly sited at the bottom of the ski runs at Le Massif adjacent to the village of Petite-Rivière-St-François blends in with the built and natural forest environments with minimal environmental impact on the protected forest. The chalets feature premium quality, sustainable construction; optimal orientation to take advantage of both the view and the sunlight; abundant, high-performance architectural windows; building shells that meet the highest energy efficiency standards; as well as healthy materials, energy-efficient appliances, and smart electrical and wood-based heating systems.
