A new faculty hub for learning, experimentation, and collaboration.

Conceived as the new heart of the Faculty of Education, the pavilion brings together learning, experimentation, and faculty life within an open and unifying environment. Designed at a human scale, it offers a stimulating setting where diverse and flexible spaces support evolving teaching practices while giving the Faculty a stronger identity and a true sense of belonging at the heart of the campus.

Adjoining the Jeanne-Lapointe Tower and located next to the future Carrefour international Brian-Mulroney, the pavilion creates a new anchor for a Faculty whose activities are currently spread across several buildings. Directly connected to the tower’s main lobby, it brings together teaching, collaboration, and student-life spaces in an environment designed to encourage interaction and exchange. Four classrooms of varying capacities, individual and collaborative workspaces, and a multipurpose area for faculty activities and events create an open learning environment adapted to current technologies and active-learning approaches.

At the heart of the program, a FabLearn-type creative laboratory provides a dedicated setting for experimentation and learning by making, particularly in the arts, sciences, technology, and robotics. This diversity of spaces allows the pavilion to support not only teaching, but also continuing education, academic activities, and collaboration with partner organizations. Architecture thus becomes a teaching tool in itself : flexible, adaptable, and designed for appropriation, it supports new ways of teaching, learning, and collaborating. Targeting LEED certification, the Pavilion also translates this vision into a sustainable approach designed to support the Faculty and its evolving practices over time.
