A northern architectural icon at the heart of Québec City.

Conceived as a premier destination for sports and entertainment, the Videotron Centre has established a bold presence within Québec City's urban landscape. Inspired by the Nordic character of the region and the sculpted forms of wind-swept snow, its distinctive architecture expresses the identity of the territory while delivering an immersive and memorable experience for visitors.

Built on the site of the former racerack at the edge of the Limoilou district, the arena accommodates a wide range of events through a flexible configuration capable of hosting more than 20,000 spectators for concerts and over 18,000 for hockey games. The project also features a spacious entrance lobby opening onto a public plaza, extending the surrounding public realm and bringing the building to a pedestrian scale. Inside, open concourses overlooking the arena promote intuitive circulation while contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the venue. The undulating openings carved into the building envelope frame unique views of the city, strengthening the connection between the facility and its urban context.

The Videotron Centre is distinguished by its sculptural white envelope and its hybrid steel and glued laminated timber structure. Curved timber arches supporting the sweeping façade give the peripheral concourses a warm and distinctive character while elegantly expressing the building's geometry. The lobby's expansive fritted glass wall acts as a sunshade by day and becomes a luminous architectural feature after dark. Designed to meet the highest standards of performance and universal accessibility, the Videotron Centre has become a major civic landmark—an enduring symbol of gathering, celebration, and Québec's collective identity.
