Reinventing the movie-going experience.
With its new locations in Loretteville and Place Ste-Foy, Le Clap Cinemas redefines its identity by offering an immersive cinematic experience where comfort, technical excellence, and hospitality come together. Developed within two existing buildings, the project transforms vacant spaces into vibrant cultural destinations designed to meet the evolving expectations of today's audiences.
Le Clap Loretteville features eight screening rooms and a bookstore, while Le Clap Place Ste-Foy includes twelve theatres, among them a 250-seat auditorium dedicated to film premieres and special events. Both venues offer generous lobby spaces, food service areas, administrative offices, and theatres equipped with acoustic entrance vestibules to enhance audience comfort. ABCP carried out the conversion studies, architectural design, and construction documentation in collaboration with Atelier 21, which was responsible for the interior design.
The architecture successfully integrates multiple theatres within existing structures while optimizing circulation, sightlines, and acoustic performance. Innovative solutions, including stacked auditoriums, maximize the capacity of each building without requiring an expansion. Special attention was also given to preserving Jordi Bonet's mural at Place Ste-Foy, incorporating this significant artwork into the project as a testament to the site's artistic heritage. Delivered through a fast-track process and developed in close collaboration with acoustic specialists, the two cinemas provide an immersive environment where architecture, technology, and comfort work together to enhance the magic of the big screen.
