The concept behind the Espace 400e project involved transforming the Louise Basin into an attractive and festive gathering place spacious enough to accommodate organized activities and large numbers of people. The idea was to use the space around the basin as an area for relaxation and celebration. The focal point of the project was the visitor center designed for Quebec City’s 400th anniversary celebrations in 2008.
