Description

Ruisseau de Feu Conservation Park is the migration point for many bird species. It is crossed by the Rivière des Prairies, a spawning ground for fish and amphibians. Frequented by birdwatchers and photographers as well as the general public for recreational purposes, the Ville de Terrebonne wanted to equip the site with reception infrastructures to ensure that visitor numbers were in keeping with its protected area status.

The project involved the development of marked trails and footbridges, as well as the integration of a shelter for site interpretation and an observation tower covering the swamp, marsh and banks of the Rivière des Prairies. Interpretive steles were added to the walkway and small buildings. The multidisciplinary design was led by the architects in collaboration with landscape architects, a biological consultant and structural engineers.
