An expansion that elevates the Québec City Convention Centre to the international stage.
The Sector 3000 expansion transformed former commercial spaces into a comprehensive suite of meeting rooms, event halls, and reception areas, increasing the capacity of the Québec City Convention Centre while reinforcing its position as a world-class convention destination. The project combines performance, flexibility, and sustainability within a facility that remained fully operational throughout construction.
Spanning more than 8,200 m² across three levels, the expansion introduces new multifunctional meeting rooms, gathering spaces, and support facilities tailored to international conventions and events. The design streamlines visitor circulation, enhances wayfinding, and modernizes the user experience through the integration of state-of-the-art technologies. The project achieved LEED-CI Gold Certification, reflecting the Société du Centre des congrès de Québec's commitment to creating high-performance, environmentally responsible spaces.
Delivered through 33 separate construction packages within an active convention centre, the project required meticulous planning to maintain uninterrupted operations, preserve public access, and coordinate closely with neighbouring partners, including Place Québec and the Hilton hotel. Existing conditions, code upgrades, and the integration of new building systems were addressed through innovative design solutions, resulting in a contemporary and highly flexible environment that meets the ambitions of an internationally recognized convention venue.
