Located at the junction of Highways 20 and 55, the SOPREMA Polyisocyanurate Manufacturing Plant boldly expresses the company's innovative identity. Conceived as a landmark visible at the territorial scale, the project transforms an industrial facility into a distinctive architectural statement where performance, sustainability, and high-quality work environments come together.
The facility includes a 7,000 m² manufacturing area, 14,000 m² of warehouse space, and a two-storey office wing. Its architectural composition clearly distinguishes each function through a dynamic arrangement of volumes. A tall glazed production hall showcases the manufacturing process, offering views into the industrial operations, while the warehouse stretches along the highway through a series of inclined façades clad with dark concrete slats. The office wing and main entrance are set back from the street to create a landscaped forecourt that highlights SOPREMA's expertise in green roofing systems while eliminating surface parking from the building's primary façade.
The architecture reflects the company's values through equal attention to operational performance and the user experience. Large glazed openings maximize natural daylight within workspaces, while the interplay of volumes, perforated surfaces, and transparency animates the façades from multiple viewpoints, creating a dynamic visual experience for passing motorists. A solar wall, native landscaping, and a site-sensitive design approach further enhance the project's environmental performance. Recipient of prestigious awards for industrial architecture and steel construction, the SOPREMA Polyisocyanurate Manufacturing Plant has become a contemporary benchmark for Québec's manufacturing sector.
